Get over something

Get over something

Imagine having a really difficult time after breaking up with girlfriend or boyfriend-it’s hard, right? But eventually once time passes and you no longer think about your ex, it means that you’ve gotten over them. You no longer worry about you break up and it no longer affects you in a negative way. It’s also possible to get over an illness, which would mean that you’ve fully recovered.

“It took Paula over a month to get over the death of her dog, and it’s still difficult for her to speak about it.”

“It took Greg two weeks to get over his cold.”
